Jamaica Mission 2013 - Hanbury Home for Children

Wow... time flies and due to a little too much travelling myself,  the blog has not been updated with much information on this years trip.. so ... here is a quick overview so far... more updates to come over the next two weeks!

Where are we?

Mandeville Jamaica - a 2.5 hour drive from Kingston.

Travel went really well this year. Other than having to pay for all of our extra baggage (gone are concessions from the airlines despite the purpose of our trip), customs went very smoothly and the drive was completed in daylight hours, on decent roads.

Who are we?

This year we have a diverse group of 34 ages 16-76.

What are we doing?

The goal this year is to replace the roof on the babyland building of the Hanbury Children's Home. There are 14 children residing in this building so replacing the roof, while we are also painting and repairing carpentry and plumbing needs while the children are still living in the building is a challenge to all!

I was also on a mission trip in Jamaica several weeks ago. We visited Hanbury Home for Children, but were not able to do any work for them due to our own schedule. It is so great to see that someone else was able to be a blessing to them in that way! God bless you!
