The Work... a slideshow from Joel's factfinding trip.

This years projects include: Roofing, Eaves trough repairs, fencing, rebuilding stairs, supporting walls and wood replacement, kitchen and bathroom renovations, plumbing, concrete repairs, and of course... painting!!!

Joel created a slide show from his fact-finding trip to Guyana a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if it will embed properly here (fingers crossed), but if not, the link to access the slideshow is: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/12y77lhd0s4khEA3FCHLa9dvNnZAJR4HczSKiEm9RIQs/edit?usp=sharing

Of note, in addition to the work, this year a visit to your doctor to confirm what vaccinations are recommended for you is essential. The sooner, the better! Due to the rain and the drainage systems along the road, mosquitos are a problem and they carry a variety of diseases in Guyana. Protection from getting bitten will be essential and as the drainage along the roads often includes biological matter, hygiene will also require careful attention!

We have confirmed the current availability of flights for the planned trip period of January 23 - February 6th... but we cannot proceed with booking until your applications are received. If you are serious about participating this year, please contact us ASAP and we will forward the form to you (if you have not already received it)!

MissionTrip ... 2015

So.... have you been questioning about this 'years' mission trip?  So have we!

We have recently received the Caribbean Territory's request for this year, and the suggestion is..... Guyana!

Unfortunately, we are not left with much time to plan all the details that must be done if the mission is to be a success.  Guyana is not as familiar a destination, as we have only been there once in the past. Joel is conducting a fact finding trip this weekend to determine the feasibility of the work, the availability of resources, and identify possible accommodation... in just a few short days!

Please pray for his safety during this time and stay tuned for details if we feel that this is possible.

project #1 is complete! Long bay retired officers residence is done. A complete repaint of the outside and inside one of the vacated apartments. A toilet and a number of door knobs and locks were replaced as well as lots of scrubbing, landscaping, light replacement and fence repairs were completed. The majors next door were so thankful and happy with the new greenish colour... not exactly our first choice but in the warm climate it does seem appropriate. Now onto our next project...
